WALKING
We are yards from the South-West Coast Path. There are also river walks near Dartmouth and Dartmoor is nearby.
SWIMMING & BEACHES
Paignton and Torquay have safe sandy beaches. You can windsurf, water ski, take a trip on a speedboat or relax on a pedalo. Also there are secluded coves if you just want to get away from it all!
FISHING & SAILING
Plenty of opportunities for both sea and freshwater fishing in nearby Stoke Gabriel, Totnes and up river in the Dart on Dartmoor. Bring your own dinghy or motor boat or hire one down here. There are miles of river and the sea to explore.
AROUND TORBAY
Torbay has plenty of interesting shops, harbours, places to eat, theatres and cinemas.
There is a good bus and train network within the area.
Salcombe, Teignmouth, Exeter and Plymouth can all be easily reached.
STEAM TRAINS
These run from Paignton along seven miles of spectacular Torbay coast and then down to historic Dartmouth with its interesting shops, harbour and castle. Also you can do the Round-Robin trip which then takes you by boat up the river to Totnes and then by open top bus back to Paignton.
HOUSES & GARDENS
There are many to visit including the National Trust properties including the gardens ounce owned by Agatha Christie 'Greenways' and Coleton Fishacre which was the holiday home of the family that owned the Savoy Hotel. |
